Just continue paying the monthly minimum payment and keep looking for ways to earn some side income to cover expenses and pay more than just the required minimum payment so that you can get rid of your debt faster.

There are a lot more variables than you can mention here.

If you truly can’t make the minimums, you need some relief.

If you just make the minimum monthly payment, you will end up costing yourself thousands of extra dollars in accrued interest. Credit card interest rates are ridiculous, so if you are able to qualify for a loan or line of credit I would use it to pay off your credit cards, then you just have a single payment to worry about. A loan or line or credit will have a much lower interest rate, and thus you will be able to pay off your debt faster.

If you don’t qualify for a loan or line of credit, you can try the strategy below:

1. Order your credit cards from highest interest rate to the lowest.
2. Calculate the total minimum monthly payment for all credit cards.
3. Pay the minimum monthly payment on all cards EXCEPT the one with the highest interest rate. If you can, try to put more money (maybe an extra $50 – $100 per month) on this one to get it paid off quicker.
4. Once the highest interest card is paid off, move the next highest interest rate card into that position and repeat the process until all your debt is gone.

You should enter one of those debt settlement programs where you pay less than your minimum payment and are debt free in 3-4 years. Your credit takes a hit but for many it is the only way to get out of debt. You pay your payment into a trust account that you control and as the credit cards go past due, money is taken from thet trust account to take advantage of settlements.

If you can’t afford minimum payments and 2nd job is not an option maybe you should transfer all the cards onto one card. Get rid of the other cards. If you eat out a lot then cut back by cooking at home take your lunch instead of eating in fast food. If you go to movies stop rent a dvd,if you don’t watch a lot of tv and you have cable cancel all the extras and get just basic cable if you have cell and home phone get rid of one. If you shop a lot then stop. If you need extra cash fast then have a yard sale.You just have to willing to sacrifice until you can afford everything you want.It may take awhile but it is worth it in the end. Good luck

You need to go purchase Dave Ramsey’s books: The Total Money Make Over and Financial Peace Revisited. You can get them at your local book store or from his web site. In his books, he tells you exactly what to do to pay off your debt. You can also listen to his radio program.

Increase your income!

Get a better job or a second part-time job.

PAY CASH for everything from now on.

Reduce your expenses. Do you have internet? A cell phone? Cable television? If so, get rid of them!

Minimum payments are not going to get you anywhere.

You could get a second job, sell something, or ask for help from your family.
