I was very happy with my Discover card when I was a student. Their offer was the best interest rate, benefits, and limit of all of the offers I got (within a week of signing a student loan, I started getting offers in the mail).

Citi, Discover, Chase, Bank or America are all issuing credit cards for students
Citi, Chase, and Discover all have decent student cards. I posted a link to apply for these. Also, most of them will visit the campus and have kiosks set up where you can apply as well.

Just about any credit card company will give a card to a college student. BE CAREFULL!!!!! I just turned 30 and finally paid off my credit cards from college. We are talking about thousands of dollars just in interest and fees! It really isn’t worth it. If you do get a card, go through your own bank. Make sure it’s a low limit card. When you get a card with a thousand dollar limit or higher in college it can spell disaster for your credit rating if you don’t pay on time and in full. I suggest just getting a 300 dollar limit card and see how you do with it. Credit card companies have a name for college students with credit cards…. chumps.
