I have no credit cards but 2 judgements and slow pays. what is the best way to improve my fico score?

dadiosir asked:

I have around $17,000 in judgements and and things are in collections(about $2000). I have no credit cards and none of them are what is being colleted on. I do not know if bankruptsy is the best for my fico score or should i just pay them down? Household net income is $3000 monthly. Also can my taxes be affected from judgements? Help and thanks

The best pay to improve your FICO score is to pay all the collections and judgments. Bankruptcy will hurt your FICO score. Leaving things in collection will also hurt your FICO score. Leaving judgments unpaid will also hurt your FICO score.

Stop worrying so much about your FICO score and just man-up and pay off your debts. That has the dual advantage of raising your FICO score while proving you are an honorable adult.
